Is there anything this guy can’t do? I am perpetually jealous / in awe.
Winston, the long-time lobby doorman at the Training Center building, passed away this week. The UCB office staff found out about his death last night.
The thing I loved about Winston was that he was such a positive presence in our building. He was always smiling and full energy. He always had a joke or funny comment for everyone. I’m sure he had a funny comment or greeting for every UCB student he met.
One of my favorite things about entering and leaving the lobby was being greeted with a “Big Man!” which was Winston’s signature greeting for the dudes. I always enjoyed it. He was a sincere person.
There’s information in the lobby about his memorial service, if you are interested.
The Beatles (Dan, Mike, Jim, and I) are continuing to look for shows.
T.R.U.C.K.S. has also tried to set up a reunion set somewhere for, literally, years.
Anyone have any open spots in June?

My friend Patrick Noth created the most bad ass improv gangster rap of all time. By improv gangster rap, I mean it is all about the improv community and it will melt your face. It’s a theme song for the show Improv Nerds with Brandon and Chelsea.
Reblog if you’re an improv nerd.
I didn’t go to Improv Nerds, but I got a chance to hear this yesterday morning. IT’S BAD ASS.
Last night, I played MLB 10: The Show, a baseball game for the PS3. I’m in the middle of playing an entire season as The Yankees.
Anyway, I was playing against The Tigers at Comerica Park. Their ace, Justin Verlander was on the mound. In the first inning, he hit Mark Tiexiera with a fastball. Later, in the top of the fourth inning, he hit Nick Swisher in the back with another fastball. The umpires did not warn either bench.
The unwritten rules of baseball indicate that you don’t let the opposing pitcher get away with hitting two of your hitters. So, in the bottom of the fourth, I — pitching as Javy Vazquez — threw a fastball at Johnny Damon’s ribs. It was awesome.
I was immediately ejected and forced to put in a reliever, Sergio Mitre. WHERE WAS THE WARNING, UMP??? Fortunately, Mitre threw 2 2/3 innings of no-run ball. Afterwards, the rest of the bullpen — Chan Ho Park, Joba Chamberlain, and then Mariano Rivera — held together a 3 - 1 lead for the win.
Other stats: A-Rod hit his 14th homerun of the season (a massive two-run bomb to left field) and is tied with Tiexiera for the league lead. Rivera picked up his 9th save.
