GUIDING LIGHT'S ROBERT BOGUE GUEST STARS IN AS THE DIAMOND BURNS, UCBT'S IMPROVISED SOAP OPERA
You should come to ATDB next Wednesday at 9:30 PM because we have a real-life soap star doing our show!
On September 16th, Robert Bogue, star of the CBS soap opera GUIDING LIGHT will drop his script as he guest stars in the Upright Citizens Brigade’s long-running improvised soap opera, AS THE DIAMOND BURNS. On GUIDING LIGHT Bogue played A.C. Mallet, a troubled cop who fought corruption on the streets and in his heart. Over the years on GUIDING LIGHT, Bogue’s Mallet stole money from drug busts, illegally adopted a baby from Bosnia and attempted murder. Bogue’s experience with the heightened reality of soap opera makes him especially well-prepared to step on stage and improvise a complete soap opera with AS THE DIAMOND BURNS
Robert Bogue joined GUIDING LIGHT in 2005. Other television appearances including “Sex and the City,” “The Sopranos,” “Ed,” “Law & Order: SVU,” “The Education of Max Bickford,” “Third Watch,” as well as the recurring role of Jason Cramer on “Oz.” Bogue is one of the original co-founding members of the New Group Theater Company.
“The daytime soap-opera is an easy target for satire, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less pleasurable when As The Diamond Burns hits its mark.”
