Poster Boy: Unmasked!
If you’ve ever been in the W 23rd Street C/E stop, then you’re probably very familiar with the work of Poster Boy, the street artist who cuts and mashes up posters in weird, cool, and interesting ways. (Check out this Poster Boy Flickr page.) This one’s my fave:

Anyway, when I started seeing this guy’s work a couple of months ago, I really wanted to watch him in action.
Last Sunday night, Chelsea and I were on our way downtown and just happened to see Poster Boy himself at work! And we snapped some pictures.
Starting to rip up a poster:

Once he ripped the cut-up poster off the wall, he’d stick it on and use the flat side of the box cutter blade to flatten the paper:

He was actually trying to work pretty quickly and was constantly on the look-out for police:

Off-camera, a small crowd had gathered to take pictures. No one was stopping him because everyone loved his work. But, he wasn’t stopping to pose either because I don’t think he necesarilly wanted his face photographed.
