Werner Herzog directed a movie called Fitzcarraldo which was shot deep in a Peruvian jungle.  The protagonist was played by Klaus Kinski, who is one of the infamous “Hard To Work With” actors.  (Herzog once threatened to shoot Kinski, then turn the gun on himself when Kinski threatened to leave the production.)

In the movie, Kinski’s character has to haul a huge river boat across a jungle-covered mountain.  So, of course, Herzog’s and his crew actually had to do that not-so-easy task in real life.

In the clip above, which was filmed during shoot, the rigors of filming in the jungle — and with Kinski — has clearly had an affect on Herzog’s psyche.

This has to be one of the great emotional breakdowns ever caught on camera.  It’s also very eloquent and very German.  Watch the whole thing.

ALSO DON’T WATCH THIS IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE A DEAD ANIMAL, CHELSEA.
